To protect the consumer, mandatory information on food packaging is uniformly regulated in the European Union. The information that all food packaging must carry includes: - the name of the food- the ingredients of the food including the 14 most important substances or products that can cause allergies or intolerances- the best before date or use-by date- the net quantity- Name / company and address of the food company- the nutrition labelingThe basis for food labeling is the LMIV (Food Information Ordinance ).
