Discs & Rods - Sintered NdFeB Magnets
NdFeB is the toughest commercially available magnetic material. A £1 coin sized disc can lift 10kg opening up a lot of design opportunities as long as it’s temperatures and corrosion constraints are taken into account. Due to over 30 years of continuous development the Neodymium Iron Boron Family has evolved over 40 grades based on the maximum energy product and operating temperature. Some factories are now claiming operating temperatures as low as 50ºC and up to 240ºC for specialist use. NiCuNi, Zn and epoxy coatings can be applied to help protect the magnets from rusting. MagDev source from several factories and a summary of the range of grades is shown below. We stock a range of discs, blocks and rings but it is wise to seek assistance during the concept stage of product design as other shapes and sizes can be sourced.Visit the MagDev Ltd website for more information on Discs & Rods - Sintered NdFeB Magnets
