Quartz crystal resonators are one of the most commonly used circuit timing elements with a frequency range from a few kHz to over 200MHz. Quartz crystal resonators provide very high Q values coupled with good frequency versus temperature characteristics making them a sensible choice where accurate clocks or reference frequencies are required.
