MPC-Lint now enforces new MISRA-C:2012 complete with Compliance Matrix

Gimpel Software has announced that PC-Lint now supports MISRA C:2102. Existing users of PC-Lint V9 can download a patch immediately. “Misra C is not just for safety critical applications, but is a tool for producing good quality C for any application,” said Chris Hills, CTO of Phaedrus Systems, the Gimpel Distributer in the UK. “In order to ensure that the code complies with MISRA guidelines requires a static code analysis tool. PC-Lint is by far the most cost-effective static code analyser on the market.” A PC-Lint/MISRA C:2012 compliance matrix, showing clearly which rules the analysis can check (some MISRA C:2012 rules are not decidable or cannot be statically checked) is available from Phaedrus systems, who can also provide an upgrade path from PC-Lint V7 and V8.
