Kanthal Globar (formerly Cesiwid) was established in 1993 when the Electric Products Division of Carborundum Corporation was purchased by Kanthal Globar Elektrowarme GmbH, headquartered in Erlangen, Germany. Kanthal Globar is, in-turn, a wholly owned subsidiary of Kanthal AB, headquartered in Halstahammar, Sweden.
