Cobalt, Iron and Nickel Magnetic Wire
VACOZETĀ® refers to a magnetic semi-hard alloy that is composed of Cobalt, Iron and Nickel. It is manufactured only as wire. The magnetic properties are established by high cold deformation with subsequent annealing treatment. The parts must be shaped by turning, punching and bending before the annealing treatment. Hard metal tools are needed for cutting VACOZET. In the finished heat-treated condition, VACOZET is hard and brittle, hence can only be machined by grinding.VACOZET is preferably used in bistable relays and display elements. Here, the system goes from one stable state to the other by means of a current pulse. Since no retaining current is needed, the display remains even in the event of a power failure. This solution saves electricity, but can be a potential safety vulnerability.
