Salt Spray testing

This test is designed to test components to an accelerated weathering. 96 hours in our salt spray cabinets is like 6 months at a seaside resort. The test is usually carried out with 5% brine (salt water) at 35 degrees Celsius. However we do carry out other tests too, such as copper accelerated salt spray tests (CASS). These tests are usually for

Accelerated tests on paints and coatings
Checks on protection from oils and greases
Tests on chromium and nickel plating
Environmental tests on finished items- axles, motors etc.
Our equipment operates 365 days a year but it is advisable to book time in the equipment to make sure your job goes in the day we receive it.

Include photography before / after and at set stages in the exposure
Carry out paint thickness or hatch tests
Vibrate or cycle at the same time as the salt spray exposure
