Side hung open out AOV's utilised to exhaust smoke to atmosphere. The AOV's are often located within the vertical upstand of an atrium or at high level as part of a natural intake/extract natural smoke ventilation system. Their performance is measured as aerodynamic free area (Aa) with quantities calculated in accordance with the fire strategy.
