The Electricity at Work Regulations place a legal responsibility on employers, employees and self-employed persons to take reasonably practicable steps to ensure that no danger results from the use of electrical equipment. This in effect requires the implementation of a systematic and regular programme of maintenance, inspection & testing of such equipment.

Here at Severn Electric all of our ‘Appliance Testing’ staff hold the minimum required qualification (City & Guilds Level 3 Certificate in Inspection & Testing of Electrical Equipment) and all our testing is carried out to the standards set out in the ‘IEE Code of Practice’ - the basis for all Portable Appliance Testing in the UK.
