For major cost-saving and green credentials, High-capacity off-line UPS systems are now available, these products typically consume around 10% less power than conventional on-line UPS, and can switch from mains power to the system’s batteries in less than 4 milliseconds (this causes no disruption for modern IT equipment loads).

Compared to an equivalent on-line double conversion UPS system these UPS systems can save around £50,000 per annum per MWatts of installed power in energy efficiency. This equates to around 600 tonnes of reduced CO2 emissions per annum for one MWatts of power.

PureWave is a high-capacity, off-line UPS that provides power protection to entire facilities. Its modular structure supports Data Centre loads between 250kVA and 20MVA, protecting power sensitive equipment from sags, surges, transients, momentary disruptions and complete outages.
