UPS Ltds class-leading PowerWAVE 6000 UPS
Soon to be available up to 5 MVA
Uninterruptible Power Supplies Limited (UPS Ltd), a Kohler company, today announced plans to extend the power capacity of its popular, standalone three phase UPS, the PowerWAVE 6000
Designed to deliver the optimal balance between energy efficiency, availability and power performance, the new extended PowerWAVE 6000 range will be available in both 400 and 500kVA power ratings, parallelable up to 5 MVA.
Compared to equivalent UPS systems of a similar capacity, the new PowerWAVE 6000 dramatically reduces the overall physical footprint with a power density up to 363 kW/m2 consumes less energy, generates lower CO2 emissions and provides significant overall cost savings.
Existing PowerWAVE 6000 models already boast one of the lowest environmental impacts and smallest physical footprints on the market and the new additions, which will be available from April 2012, are set to make a significant impact within the large data centre and facilities sectors. David Renton, UPS Ltds Managing Director commented on the company's latest development:
“We have seen demand for the existing PowerWAVE 6000 continue to grow, especially within the small to medium sized data centre arena, where space and efficiency are key considerations. However, feedback from both existing and potential customers, regularly asked if there was a UPS which maintains the same advanced characteristics, but with a larger kVA rating. In response, we extended the range to produce a UPS that met the required power capacity but without impacting the units performance or efficiency credentials. This class-leading UPS system is now available in ten power ratings, ranging from 60 to 500 kVA, and boasts an output power factor rated up to one – ensuring compliance with all modern IT equipment like blade servers.”
The new PowerWAVE 6000 has been specifically designed to meet the growing power protection demands of mission critical applications within the data centre, IT, telecommunications and financial services sectors. The PowerWAVE 6000 boasts features and options which reflect current and predicted industry needs, including the flexibility to accommodate an increase in power requirements, with n+1 parallel redundancy and double conversion efficiencies of up to 96%, even with partial loads. Easy installation and maintenance are also key features for this three-phase UPS system, with only frontal electrical connections and fully serviceable components throughout.
Since the launch of UPS Ltds flagship modular UPS, the PowerWAVE 9000DPA, in 2007, UPS Ltd has been recognised as setting global standards in uninterruptible power supply solutions. The new PowerWAVE 6000 is a continuation of this trademark innovation, offering double conversion, transformerless topology across the entire range.
