Varlink introduces the new OPL-9815 Data Collector from Opticon

Varlink, the York based mobile computing and data capture specialist distributor, is pleased to announce the launch of the Opticon OPL-9815, a Bluetooth data collector with integrated GPS that registers actual time and geographical position along with data entry. The OPL-9815 incorporates a powerful barcode laser scanner that scans fast and accurately whilst easily managing a large amount of data. Data collected can be transmitted via Bluetooth connection or stored on the on-board memory which can be transferred via IrDA interface within the cradle when the scanner is inserted for charging. With a fast 32-bit processor and clear alpha-numeric keypad, the OPL-9815 provides fast, highly efficient data entry and processing for a range of applications such as inventory management, proof of delivery and access control. The keypad enables the user to navigate through the loaded application and add information to the scanned data. The LCD display presents as many as 10 lines of information for easy readability. The OPL-9815 is IP54 rated and can withstand drops of 1.5m, ideal for inventory, logistics, warehousing and retail applications. Ergonomically shaped, this lightweight scanner fits conveniently in the user’s hands enabling comfortable scanning for all day use. It also includes a powerful, rechargeable Li-Ion battery ensuring the scanner can be used for a complete shift without having to be recharged, maximising employee productivity. Opticon's OPL-9815 data collector replaces the now end of life OPL-9700 series. Communication and charging options are available, plus the OPL-9815 is backward compatible with existing OPL-9700 series cradles. The OPL-9815 is programmable allowing the user to create custom solutions using the free downloadable SDK from Opticon. The SDK can also be used to recompile existing user applications when upgrading to the new OPL-9815.
