IBX moulded ABS enclosure

IBX moulded ABS enclosure IBX instrument cases. The ideal modern enclosure: stylish, strong and versatile. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Our IBX moulded ABS enclosure combines functionality and versatility with a clean modern style, giving any desktop or portable product an imposing, high quality image and a strong presence. IBX Sizes and options IBX has a plan size of 275mm wide x 250mm deep, and is available in heights of 25, 50, 75 and 100mm. A tilt and swivel carry handle, rated at 20kg, can be fitted to the three larger sizes to create a portable enclosure. PCB mounting Slots moulded into the side infill panels enable 6U 160 or 220mm deep PCBs to be mounted horizontally into the enclosure; non-standard depth 6U wide PCBs can also be mounted vertically using the side infills. Four self-adhesive PCB mounting posts are supplied for smaller boards. Front and rear panels Three standard panel designs are available. Anodised aluminium front and rear panels are either captured between the top and base mouldings to give a clean uncluttered appearance; alternatively, traditional screw-on panels are available. Both types are available in plain or ventilated configurations. A sloping plastic front panel, again available in plain or ventilated versions, tilts the front face upwards to improve visibility for the user. EMC and anti-microbial options If EMC screening is required, Vero Technologies offers three alternative internal coatings that provide varying levels of attenuation at different price points to suit more than 95% of possible applications. For highly specialised applications, other coatings are available. For commercial requirements, the lowest cost 50-micron nickel coating provides attenuation of 50dB at 1GHz. The default coating is a 10- or 20-micron silver-coated copper particle coating, which typically attenuates by 78dB at 10GHz. The highest attenuation is achieved using a 22.5-micron silver coating, which gives in excess of 80dB at 1.5GHz. It provides an effective shield against RFI and EMI and can act as a ground plane to protect against electrostatic discharge (ESD). For medical instruments, IBX can be manufactured with a silver-based antimicrobial additive in the material, which provides an effective means of reducing bacteria by up to 99.99% for the active life of the product. The key feature is that the doping material is added to the raw ABS before the moulding process. As the additive becomes an integral part of the material, the efficacy of the protection does not diminish over time, giving far superior protection to external coatings that will inevitably degrade through normal wear and tear, routine cleaning and accidental damage. For aluminium front panels the antimicrobial material is added to the anodising process, achieving an equally effective reduction in bacterial growth.
