PCBAs Can Be Tested to Withstand all Climatic Conditions

13-04-2015

Wilson Process Systems invest in Environmental Testing Facilities in support of contract to build Data Loggers for Transport Industry. PCBAs can be tested to withstand all climatic conditions Wilson Process Systems (WPS), the leading contract manufacturer, has recently installed new environmental testing equipment to support the needs of a client operating in the challenging Transport industry. Weiss-Gallenkamp Limited is a world leader in the field of Environmental Testing Equipment . The C 600 –70 Pro test chamber that WPS has just acquired enables continuous temperature cycling between -70 and +180 degrees C and includes a patented psychrometric humidity measurement system. It is used by clients whose products are subjected to extremes of temperature and humidity and who therefore want to test them in a simulated environment prior to commissioning. In this instance, a manufacturer of data logging equipment, which is positioned in exposed locations all around the world, requested that the assembled PCBs that WPS produces for them be temperature cycled between -10 and +60 degrees C for 24 hours. Commented WPS’ Sales Director, Nick Jones: “We are getting similar requests on a regular basis as electronics equipment moves more and more into the open air where it is exposed to all sorts of weather conditions. It is our long-standing policy at WPS to invest in new equipment to support new and existing clients, and the Weiss-Gallenkamp environmental test chamber is just the latest example of this policy, resulting in an improved service to our customers.”
