WPS shows further commitment to IPC employee training

13-04-2015

Established Hastings-based Contract Electronics Manufacturer, Wilson Process Systems (WPS), is demonstrating its commitment to upholding IPC standards by investing even further in IPC training for production staff. This is part of the organisation’s dedication to improving workmanship levels for all employees, as well as providing customers with the guarantee that WPS employees possess the skills needed to manufacture the most demanding of assemblies efficiently. Steve Cooke, Sales Manager at WPS, commented on the importance of IPC training for employees: “It’s one of our goals to train as many operators as possible. We believe that the investment in training really pays dividends with the morale and the general well-being of our staff. An equally important factor is that it allows WPS to offer the highest level of capability in electronics assembly, which we feel is imperative as we look to expand into more demanding sectors such as military and medical. With over 85 active employees here at WPS, it’s a valuable resource.” To achieve IPC certification WPS employees are sent on an industry-developed and approved training program, which follows the two-tier ‘train the trainer’ approach. This helps to assure those undertaking the course that they have a thorough understanding of specific industry criteria. At the successful completion of the training, WPS employees receive industry traceable certifications. All employees at WPS who have taken part in the training have thoroughly enjoyed the courses and commented on the value derived as they deal with complex and demanding assemblies. In turn WPS’ customers benefit from added productivity, quality and efficiency.
