The S178A Hand-Held Core-Alignment Fusion Splicer and the S153A Active Clad Alignment
Fusion Splicer have both been enhanced and updated to version 2. The additional key features
include:
• Internal battery charging when connected to AC mains power even during operation.
• New illumination lamp lights up a wide area around the V-grooves and helps operation in
low light environment.
• Redesigned and strengthened heater simplifies the protection sleeve loading process.
• SM Auto program splices all types SM fiber under 1 program (S178A only).
• User friendly LCD display options offers 4 different X/Y image layouts.
• Simplified splice result indicator red / green icon.
• Simplified fusion and heater program editing.
• Improved GUI enhancing ease of use.
• New Tool Case “TCC-01” to the standard package.
