Selective Conformal Coating System
27-10-2010
We operate a sophisticated and automated process to selectively coat PCB assemblies. Utilising a leading edge system manufactured by PVA, allows us to selectively coat PCB assemblies with a wide variety of conformal coating products.
The robotic spray system allows fine amounts of coating to be dispensed onto PCB's with high accuracy. Multi axis control allows the coating to sprayed on, around and underneath complex components where required.
The distinct advantages of the PVA system means there is no longer a need to mask any keep out areas of the PCB assembly. The application and removal of 'tape' to mask critical components can be time consuming, problematical and heavily increases the cost of production. Typically this method of coating allows a high quality product to be supplied at a price point that is typically 20% to 30% lower than traditional methods of coating.
In addition to a our conformal coating process we conduct a full PCB preparation process including ultrasonic cleaning and solvent based vapour cleaning. We clean our products to exceed the guidelines of IPC CH-65 A and J-Standard 001-D, also known as MIL SPEC. We use Zero Ion contamination testing to ensure the level of cleanliness.
