CELEBRATING 40 YEARS IN ELECTRONICS!

21-08-2023

April 2023 sees the business celebrate 40 years of working within the electronics industry. This milestone could not have been reached without the support of our employees and the trust of our clients. We’re proud of our past endeavours and we’re excited about our future! We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone involved with the business. Here’s to another 40! What else happened in 1983? Unmanned spacecraft Pioneer 10 crosses the orbit of Pluto, making it the first craft to go beyond our Solar System. The Internet takes another step towards its creation as ARPANET (Advanced Research Projects Agency Network) is moved to TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol). Infrared Astronomical Satellite (IRAS) is launched. This is the first satellite telescope to survey the sky using infrared resulting in some unexpected discoveries; These including six new comets and evidence of other solar systems centring around the stars Vega and Fomalhaut. Though the patent won’t be filed until 1984, Chuck Hull invents 3D printing, though he calls it stereolithography. The first time a human head is recreated three dimensionally using a CAT scan.
