Recent changes to EMC Standards

21-01-2010

EMC standards have made some significant changes recently. These changes affect many product types, in particular ITE equipment and luminaires, and become applicable in 2010.

In particular, the requirements for ITE equipment now involve testing for emissions up to 6GHz, but this depends on the internal clock frequency in the product.

and

the requirements for luminaires are extended to cover radiated emissions in the band 30MHz - 230MHz, and introduce the use of CDNs as a measurement technique.
