Kerith Church Case Study

02-03-2015

***Kerith Community Church approached PacificWave with a simple brief; please help us enhance the visual experiences of our community for their daily, weekly and annual services and events. The brief covered two key areas within the Church; the main hall and the K2 Centre adjacent to the main Church building.*** PacificWave spent many hours analysing the usage of the area’s in question, collecting useful feedback which was used to design a simple yet effective system capable of meeting the needs of the congregation, pastors, group leaders and general users of the churches facilities, whilst integrating with the existing lighting and audio facilities already present. Working around the community groups proved challenging, after all, they were a source of income for the church and a collection of the key users all at the same time. The installation within the main hall was designed to the exact specification requested by the client. The main hall included a centralised, 4m wide projection screen with a Barco 4,500 ANSI Lumens DLP Data projector which was installed to the under-side of the adjacent first floor tiered seating area. To the front facia of the tiered stand, PacificWave complimented the Barco projection unit with a 65” Panasonic Plasma screen which is used as a repeater monitor for the Pastor hosting the sermon or service. The displays are used primarily to relay messages to the audience or project the words of the chosen hymns. The system is further complimented by a live video recording and distribution system. The system allows the church to record and stream the service to other areas within the building and is controlled from a centralised desk, along with the balanced lighting and evenly distributed audio. The record facility is also used by the local user groups for plays, music events and conferences, which can be archived and stored for later use. Within the K2 centre the system was much simpler to integrate, install and commission. PacificWave installed a wall-mounted Sanyo 5,500 ANSI Lumens LCD projector into the environment, linking visual images with the submissive audio already present in the environment. The K2 is mainly used by local hirers for audio and media-based events and provide effective and efficient playback from multi PC and Video based inputs.
