Radio Links Communications started out in 1972. The company became the 1st independent radio company in the United Kingdom. The founder and Managing Director was formerly a Royal Signals radio engineer and later Chief Engineer at Pye Telecom Service in Cambridge.

After getting the First Licence in the United Kingdom enabling the hire of radio equipment, orders were secured from councils, organisers of sporting events and local businesses, a number of which are still customers today.

The hire market rapidly expanded in United Kingdom and using the knowledge gained, the company quickly evolved into system sales.
