How does Entel’s P1 Private PoC radio system work?
In order to meet changing needs, the two-way radio industry is continuing to evolve, and we are seeing more intelligent PoC and BBPTT networks being launched. Entel’s popular E-PoC service has been elevated to the next level with the Entel’s P1 Private PoC radio system to provide business critical communications. The Entel universal gateway P1 offers a low cost push to talk radio style system that will provide outstanding performance, features and range a without compromising on quality of service. It delivers the equivalent of a large digital trunked network but at the cost of a single DMR repeater with an aerial system. So, how does Entel’s P1 Private PoC radio system work? 1. Add the P1 Server The P1 server replaces a traditional radio ‘repeater’ as the core of the system(s). A P1 server can be installed virtually anywhere, for example your designated location, or in the Amazon cloud. 2. Next add your devices DN400 Radios Users on this POC system have the option to utilise a two way radio style device, or app on their chosen smart device. The DN495 P1 two way radio style device or a software app. Radios equipped with Entel SIM cards roam all four UK cellular networks (plus Europe), giving them access to thousands of base stations, ensuring maximum redundancy. The P1 Android and iOS Smartphone app enables Smartphone users to be in touch with P1 radios and, when used with a Gateway, existing Analogue and Digital radio systems. 3. Select your workforce management software The compact dispatcher solution includes a touchscreen and GPS map and costs less than a basic fixed mobile radio. Additionally, voice, data, location, and message recording software can be added. P1’s safety and evidence logging capabilities are ideal for monitoring and logging safety for your employees, such as parking attendants, highways maintenance, or security officers, for example. 4. Finally, select your required system features Workforce and safety software management features include but are not limited to: Broadcast / All call Priority call (call interrupt) Remote microphone live Send / receive text messages Emergency / Lone-Worker / Man-Down with highest call priority & transmit interrupt Emergency call GPS location Remote mic live Presence check (see who is on-line) Feature are free and can be disabled should you prefer not to record anything at all. How much does P1 cost compared to other types of radio systems? Entel Cloud P1 server software can support hundreds or thousands of DN400 radios. The software is pre-installed for you and costs less than a single DMR repeater. Hosting your server in the cloud comes with some ongoing fees (which can be avoided by using a DELL PC server). The DELL PC servers can support up to 500 DN400 radios for about the same cost as a single DMR repeater and aerial system (smaller and larger size P1 DELL PC servers are available). Other than the internet connection (that may already exist) and mains power, there are no ongoing server fees. If DN400 radios are only used on WiFi, e.g. on-site only, there are no ongoing fees. If used on cellular, Entel’s, high redundancy, 4 UK network plus EU roaming SIMs. Lower cost single network SIM’s can of course be used where budgets are extremely tight. All configurations can be carried out remotely and programming over the air / IP. Functioning like a trunked radio system the P1 server can support your requirements when budgets are tight: Only a single P1 server is required to cover all your sites No site rental or interconnecting line rental fees to pay Significantly less infrastructure equipment to purchase and maintain Centralising control means you can change configuration settings instantly over the air A high degree of redundancy is built in Already have an Entel radio system in place and would like to add POC? Through an Entel gateway you can create that connection that give users complete visibility regardless of the device they are using. Our sector is advancing rapidly and we are keen to showcase how solutions like the Entel’s P1 Private PoC radio system can make a difference to your employees and your organisation.
