More Live ATC Systems Delivered

05-03-2013

In October 2012 Shoreham Airport in West Sussex, UK, took delivery of a Troy VCS9808 Live ATC Voice Communication System to replace the original Troy 9000 series that has been in service at the airport since 1995. The new system has three operator positions in the tower and an Engineer position, accessing 8 radio and 10 telephone interfaces. Troy Engineers installed and commissioned the system and the CAA has approved the system for operational use. We have also delivered a 12 position EVCS to Machester Airport in November 2012. This order was followed by one from NATS Services to supply an Emergency VCS system for Birmingham Airport. This system was delivered in December 2012 and incorporates a Troy Landing Clearance Indicator System, (LCIS). Both systems access eight radios and ten telephone lines. Troy is building a live VCCS system for installation at Gimhae Airport, Busan, South Korea in May 2013. This system has 41 positions in five separate buildings and will access up to 35 main and 35 standby radios and 120 telephone lines of various types. Another current project is a Tower VCCS for Sisimuit Airport in Greenland. This system will have two controller positions accessing up to eight radios and eight telephone lines, and is due for delivery in May2013. Troy is also building the fourth training custom VCCS system for the Air Navigation Service of the Czech Republic, for delivery in June 2013. The previous 3 systems have a total of 57 positions and the new system will increase this by 25 to 82. All systems are installed in the main training college in Prague. Troy has also recently completed an upgrade to the NATS training Systems at CTC, Southampton and the new Prestwick Control Centre. These systems have been in service now for some years and have a total of more than 220 VCCS positions. In the last two years Troy has supplied four further live ATC systems. These systems were provided for: Stepanakert Airport in Armenia, 3 positions with 16 radios and 24 assorted types of telephone interface. Egilsstadir Airport in Iceland, 2 positions with four radios and four telephone interfaces. Phnom Penh Airport in Cambodia. A radio-only system with two positions and 6 radios. Siem Reap Airport in Cambodia. This system is the same specification as for Phnom Penh. Whilst Troy have older live systems in service in the UK we are pleased to now be supplying the very latest systems for UK installation.
