New Multi-Tone Sound Module automatically adjusts to ambient noise EAO, the expert partner for Human Machine Interfaces, has developed an intelligent, configurable sound module to alert people to potentially dangerous situations, such as at automatic train doors or pedestrian crossings and lift doors. Research showed that standard sound modules tend to be pre-set at high volume to cope with noisy situations, but during quieter periods they become extremely loud and distracting. With the new, self-adjusting Series 56 MTSM, EAO solves this problem with a device that's capable of automatically adjusting its volume to the ambient noise. It's never too loud or too quiet - always just right. The new MTSM detects background noise and adapts the volume to be a pre-defined number of decibels louder than the ambient noise (+2 or +8dB, others on request). Not only are people protected from harmful or excessive noise, but the set-up process for each installation is also much faster and easier. The flexible configuration feature allows customised warning sounds to be created for different situations - door opening, door closing, etc. There's a choice of six, pre-configured tone sequences that can be set to play at different intervals, durations and repeats. New tone sequences can be easily and quickly created with the tone editor program. For rail customers, it comes with a set of pre-configured TSI PRM compliant sounds. The MTSM is designed to meet the very high EAO standards of quality, reliability, durability and design. The compact sound module with its diameter of just 43mm comes in two shapes: conical or flush. It is fast and easy to mount, either in a panel or to glass, and shares the same design and dimensions as other Series 56 products.
