Configuration

Volume production enables cost savings through economies of scale, but final configuration enables making the product individual for each customer. As products become more complex, final configuration is becoming more important. This can take place very late in the production process, enabling the very latest software and configuration to be used for a particular customer. This can take the form of physical configuration, addition of options, setting parameters and loading different software.
