02-08-2010
A blog post by telecommunications expert Daljeet Sidhu claimed that small businesses could benefit from replacing their traditional telephony system with VoIP, as the quality and features offered by the devices has improved in recent years.
"Traditional phone systems require administration and upkeep of costly infrastructure as per industry norms. With VoIP, businesses reduce installation and maintenance overheads by using one network for voice and data," he added.
Mr Sidhu also pointed out that VoIP phones for business allow firms to operate from wherever there is a broadband connection, permitting them to take calls from contacts in the office, at home or even staying in a hotel.
In addition, the expert highlighted the simplicity of VoIP phones, noting that they are easy to install and can be linked with other systems such as email.
Recent research from market intelligence firm Frost & Sullivan claimed that global demand for VoIP phones is expected to increase over the course of 2010
